Three students were arrested after a fight broke out at Rio Grande High School on Thursday. The fight and a report of a possible gun prompted a lockdown at the school and a heavy police presence for much of the morning and early afternoon. In an update to reporters later that day, Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales said a school resource officer on campus called deputies to alert them to the incident. When deputies arrived, they found the students involved and were able to use security footage to find a firearm that was involved in the incident. No shots were fired. Three students were arrested and transported to a juvenile detention center.
