Alamogordo Police Department placed two Chaparral Middle School students in custody for possession of unloaded handguns on school property. KVIA TV is reporting Wednesday at 11:20 in the morning, administrators at Chaparral Middle School, were alerted that two students, aged 13, were in possession of firearms. The two students allegedly talked about having guns. School Resources Officer Kristen Autry with CMS staff found the students and their backpacks. One of the students had a .40 caliber pistol in one of the students’ backpacks. A .45 caliber pistol and two knives were found on the other student. Both students will be turned over to Otero county Detention Center prior to being transported to a juvenile facility.
